This tooth is of an extinct pig is a partial mandible with complete third molar, that belonged to Metridiochoerus andrewisi.  The teeth of this pig are specialised for grazing. They are made up of many pillars and are quite high crowned, an adaptation to a grass dominated diet.  This tooth was found by Dominic in 2009 in Area 105 on the east side of Lake Turkana.

Metridiochoerus andrewsi is a sexually dimorphic pig with large males and smaller females. The skulls of adult males of this species display well developed zygomatic knobs, the protuberances near the eye sockets. These are absent in the females.
