This is a piece of the left maxilla with its 2nd and 3rd molar. It belonged to a Tragelaphine. This specimen was found in Area 105 in deposits dated to about 1.6 million years.

The tribe Tragelaphini are a group of medium to large antelopes that include the modern living Kudu, Eland, Nyala, Sitatunga, Bongo and Bushbuck. These are browsing antelope where in most species the males only have distinctive lyrate horns although in the Eland and Bongo both sexes have horns. The teeth are low crowned as they are generally browsers with a diet consisting of softer leaves and sometimes fruit and seed pods.
