This lower jaw, was found by K. Kitibi in 1974. It was discovered in an archaeological excavation, FXJJ20 E, run by Glynn Isaac, on the east side of Lake Turkana. The specimen was in poor condition, with several of the front teeth badly displaced and the specimen looked fairly distorted although it has since been reconstructed. The large, robust, complete lower jaw must have belonged to a male individual of Paranthropus boisei, the same species as OH5 Zinjanthopus from Olduvai Gorge.
